Arborvitae
Arborvitae is native to the northern United States and Canada and has had many uses throughout history. All parts of the Arborvitae tree were used by Native Americans for building vessels and baskets, but more importantly for many health benefits.
Arborvitae essential oil has recently gained popularity in health and skin care, but only recently we have seen scientific research conducted on the benefits of the oil. Recently, doTERRA scientists published the first study examining the biological activity of Arborvitae essential oil in human skin cells.
It was concluded in this research that Arborvitae was able to influence tissue remodelling–related proteins. Arborvitae essential oil was also found to diversely impact the human global gene expression. This does imply that Arborvitae essential oil is highly active in human skin cells, and particularly in supporting healthy inflammatory and tissue remodelling processes.
While there is still much to learn about the mechanisms that enable these processes, this study is the first in a long line of research doTERRA scientists have planned to pushed forward the understanding of this amazing oil.
Arborvitae is high in a compound called tropolones which protect against seasonal and environmental threats, so it’s a fantastic oil to add to a diffuser in winter to fight off germs and support the immune system.
Diffused with On Guard protective blend and frankincense this oil will really protect and increase immunity when you are feeling rundown.
